According to InterNations, the city outranked other Canadian cities in several factors: it is the best Canadian city in the cost of living, finance, housing, and urban work life.
Montreal ranked fifth in the world in the housing subcategory: over 75 percent of expats gave the affordability of housing a positive rating, and 80 percent say it is an easy region to find accommodations.
Montreal, the largest city in Quebec, came in right behind Taipei, Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Singapore in the InterNations survey, Expat City Ranking 2019. The city ranked 33rd for satisfaction with the expat’s financial situation.
Over 66 percent of expats ranked the local career opportunities in a positive light. Montreal ranked in third place in the work-life balance category.
